Tuition

This is something that I take very seriously and have a great deal of success in.

I teach all ages and all abilities how to play the trumpet and I am currently teaching the trumpet at a school in Birmingham with some great kids. My last three ABRSM exam entries look like this:

Age - 9, Grade 1, 128/150- MERIT

Age - 9, Grade 1, 137/150- DISTINCTION

Age 9, Grade 3, 122/150 - MERIT

Age 10, Grade 3, 125/150 - MERIT

Age 11, Grade 3, 121/150 - MERIT

Age - 10, Grade 4, 140/150- DISTINCTION

Age 12, Grade 4, 122/150 - MERIT

I guarantee that if I put you in for an exam you will pass!!

This is because I believe a good player is built on a strong technique and a good musical knowledge. That’s why my pupils perform so well!!

Unfortunately too many teachers go for quick fix’s and fast results at the cost of quality of development. This is why they end up holding their trumpet like a clarinet and have no strength to play what so ever.

My top pupil right now is Aged 12 and will be taking his GRADE 8 before the end of the year and is in the NCO - National Children’s Orchestra for the second year running. He has a rock solid technique and show exactly what you can achieve when you have a passion for music and are willing to work for it. Here’s a short clip of the school featuring my top pupil found at www.expressandstar.com

If you have any questions about playing the trumpet or are in the Midlands or London Area and looking for a teacher please don’t hesitate to Email me at matt@mattrobertsmusic.com .
